I failed to point out that I, too, am no better than these people. I deserve no more of Earth’s goods than anybody else. This truth takes on different meaning, however, when God’s view is considered. Since I believe God sent His Son to die for my sins, I have received certain gift that only God can award: God says I am His Son, I am Heaven’s ambassador, I am a joint-heir with Jesus, I have the privilege of prayer. This sets me aside from people in the world who have not believed Jesus Christ died for them. Anybody on Earth can have these things – even that poor miner – by accepting the truth of the Gospel, the account of God’s grace. I do all I can do to make the Gospel known to others so they can have the good things I have because I love God, the Creator and Redeemer. God love – agape – is not a sentimental emotion or lust, it is a disciplined motivator.
